Writing Retreat in Pátzcuaro, Michoacán, Mexico (August 2022)

DAY TO DAY

ITINERARY

6am-11am Intensive Quiet Writing/Art Hours (light breakfast will be available in the kitchen/pantry)

11am Lunch

12pm Sightseeing in the town of Patzcuaro (bookstore, basilica, tallers, market, cafés, etc.) + Optional Day Trips (Tzintzunzan, Janitzio, Cuanajo). Please note that there will be lots of walking involved to get to/from the town center in Patzcuaro and at the Day Trip location. Food/souvenirs will also be available for your own purchase at the markets.

5pm Dinner

6pm - 9pm More Writing/Art Time (short 15 minute prompt, stretch, breathing, dance)

SLEEPING ARRANGEMENTS

There are 4 single beds and several double beds. Most of the sleeping areas will be up one flight of stairs.

Please note in the comments when you check out what your sleeping preferences are.

COSTS

COVERS

$300/$600(for two weeks) paid to El Taller will cover most of the food, lodging, and transportation in the country. This payment will be non-refundable.

NOT COVERED

You will be responsible for your own plane ticket to/from the airport in Morelia. (And any other items you need for travel, Visas, COVID tests, immunizations, etc.)

DATES

Week One July 31 - August 7

Week Two August 7- August 14

ARRIVAL

Please plan to arrive in the afternoon (there are flights from the USA landing between 2 and 4pm) on July 31st or on August 7th.

We will pick you up on those days at the airport at Morelia International Airport, in Michoacán, Mexico. You'll be responsible for your own transportation if you are arriving outside of this timeframe. Please book your plane ticket by June 1st for us to coordinate ground transport in Mexico.
