El Mercado is a monthly marketplace that offers locally handmade artistic and crafted products and services. Events happen one Saturday of the month on the 2nd floor of El Taller / Cafe Azteca in downtown Lawrence, MA. Each month will be curated around a different theme and are designed to celebrate our local makers and those who celebrate them!

Raised in Lawrence practically my whole life. I love painting stuff that might be easy to identify (faces, food, money, or just faces lol) but what it means/what you take away from it is what I focus on.
This is a lifestyle, painting has been in my life as a way to express myself (talk) to other people without the use of words. When finding myself explaining a piece I can feel it killing the emotions I've put into it.
Interpret what you see for yourself, and have a conversation about it. As a painter that is what makes me happy, seeing people debate about what it means TO THEM.

Fiber arts has allowed me to be inspired by the world around me and design creative wearables as well as non-traditional art and décor. I've gotten the most out of figuring out how I can translate different shapes into crochet, whether or not they were originally created with yarn. The problem solving in an art form feels like the perfect balance of my analytical and creative sides.
